Going Commercial

Trying to earn a crust and eek a gain,
Sub-Sub-Sub-Subbies make a contract chain,
But when good will’s gone and the promises are virtual,
You better bet it’ll go commercial.

Everything‘s hard, but nothing is harder,
Than a monkey’s grip on a hard-earned ’nana.
‘Possession’s nine tenths of the law’ says he,
The other tenth is sheer bastardry.

The scope has grown, the delays are heaping,
The schedule’s blown and the bottom-line’s weeping,
Your Lawyer’s quoting God-damn Virgil -
You better bet it’s gone commercial.
